Tsimane is Back 06.11.2020
We got the following message from Tsimane:

The last eight months have been very challenging for all of us. We sincerely hope that everyone is doing well as we all endure these difficult times.

As you may know, Tsimane had to reschedule more than 340 customers who were coming in 2020 to the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Even without running the regular season, we continued to support the Indigenous tribes and the national park of Tsimane to help protect the jungle and support the health and subsistence needs of the natives. Over the last eight months, we were able to bring the tribes a great deal of medicine, Covid-19 tests, non-perishable food, fuel, and more. We were also able... read more...

A difficult end of the season finalizing an overall good season on the Gaula 22.10.2020
Now the 2020 season on the Gaula is already over. It was an unfamiliar situation for all of us, because of the extremely strict travel restrictions of the Norwegian government. A normal season, as we know it, was simply not possible. Even when the Norwegian government re-opened the borders for many EU countries on July 15, they gradually closed the borders again, so that nobody could really plan their vacation.

Good run on the Gaula with big numbers of grilse From 31.07.2020 18.08.2020
A lot has happened on the Gaula since our last update. The weather conditions are excellent for fishing. The lowest water level so far was 50 m3 / second (Gaulfossen) and frequent rain showers have caused the Gaula to rise again and again. In the last week the river rose to 306 m3 / second on the Gaulfossen.

The weather forecast for the coming days is also very promising. The temperatures are usually between 14 and 22 degrees. Also one or the other rain shower will ensure that the river will maintain a very good water level. There is no indication of low water like in previous years at the moment!

At the moment there are mostly grilse which are caught by the guests on th... read more...

Norway is opening the borders for tourists and still good fishing on the Gaula From 31.07.2020 18.08.2020
Finally, Norway has opened the borders for tourists from many EU countries, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands, from July 15, 2020. In addition, the almost tropical temperatures in Norway have now been gone for about 14 days and the river offers excellent conditions for fly fishing.

Due to constant rain showers and rather low temperatures, the water level is currently around 100 m per second in Gaulfossen and is dropping very slowly. There are more rain showers in the forecast for the coming days. The water temperature is not too high either, it is currently between 10 and 13 degrees.

The relatively promising conditions have also led to...
